Steven Duckworth has arranged the traditional American folk song 'Shenandoah' for an SATB or SSA choir with piano accompaniment.
The 'Shenandoah' tune is a love song all about nature. The origins of the piece are unknown; some believe it has come from American/Canadian travellers canoeing down the Missouri River, others from the 19th Century and a traveller wanting to marry the Shenandoah Chief's daughter. It explores the beauty of the American valleys, particularly in Virginia.
